The busy season is upon us and we have many activities planned over the next couple of months at the club.  BTW, we know that these posts get 2x sent to your email.  We’re working on the problem.

May 11--the next set of classes begins.  Sign up to help via the recent email link.

May 15-17 Junior Regionals Volunteers Opportunity Sign up here

May 30–Sculling Day at Vancouver Lake.  Join us at 9am (or as soon as you can make it) for a day of sculling in singles, doubles and quads at Vancouver Lake.  Practice on the race course, get tips from a coach, learn how to get back in a flipped single–all of this plus a potluck picnic lunch.  Sign up is on our regatta signup Google Doc.

June 6–National Learn to Row Day  10am-noon. USRowing’s annual public open house.  We offer a free Introduction to Rowing class.  Suggest it to a friend, or volunteer to help our coaches introduce our sport to someone. More info here.

June 20–Summer work party and Shell Trailer Appreciation Day.   9am-11am.  Let’s get our boats ready for Regionals.  Plus, a special few people will powerwash the trailer and give it a tune up.  It’s 10 years old this year, and it would love some attention.

June 26-28  Regionals at Vancouver Lake.  Sign up via the Regatta Google Doc  Be sure to indicate whether you can compete each day (Friday racing starts at noon).

July ?   Annual Picnic Row to Lake Oswego.  We need organizers—this could count toward your volunteer hours!

July 18-19 Cascadia Masters Regatta, Burnaby BC.  Sign up on regatta google doc!  Sculling and sweep events over two days on a great 1k course.

August 2–Green Lake Summer Extravaganza–a great race for newer rowers in Seattle on a summer Saturday.  Sign up in the regular place!

Fall Racing Calendar Addition–Aside from Row for the Cure, the Fall Classic and Head of the Lake, this year we are adding a double head race in Canada on October 24 and 25.  In Victoria.  Get those passports in order, this is one of the more epic head race weekends in North America.  Travel up Friday. Race 5000 meters on Saturday.  7000 on Sunday.  Eat a lot. Drive back Sunday evening.
