Coach Wanted: Head Women’s Sweep Coach

 

We are searching for an experienced coach to lead our growing and successful masters women’s competitive sweep program.

Station L is a community rowing club with over 150 members guided by a team of ten coaches. This head coach is supported by two assistant coaches for novice and intermediate rowers, women’s team captains and enthusiastic and committed rowers. Station L strives to have a culture that is welcoming of all ages and abilities of masters rowers while also creating the best possible competitive opportunities.

Requirements:
1.3+ years of coaching experience, preferably with women athletes
2.USRowing Level 2 certification, knowledge of USRowing rules/regulations desired
3.Oregon Boater Card and First Aid certification needed prior to beginning work

Coach Attributes Sought:
1.Prepares rowers mentally, physically, and technically to row and compete well
2.Serves as a mentor to and work collaboratively with assistant coaches
3.Creates and supports a cohesive, inclusive and competitive women’s sweep program culture that values rowers of all ages
4.Has high expectations and an ability to guide rowers in that pursuit
5.Is an excellent communicator with rowers and coaches and collaborates with entire Station L coaching staff
6.Has record of competitive success coaching women
7.Can plan and communicate a year round training regimen

Hours: The position is part time, mornings and weekends, with competitive hourly wages DOE. If desired, this position can be combined with other coaching opportunities at the club in our sculling and/or learn-to-row programs. The position reports to the club’s Program Director.
