The river has calmed down and we’ve had two days of morning practice! Woohoo. (also, check out the pic of the ~600lb. sea lion from this morning, posted to our Facebook) A few reminders and announcements follow:
•Work Party this Saturday, 9am-noon. Stay for all of it, or part of it. There’s plenty to do.
•Dues and USRowing waivers are now expected from all members. Please take care of this ASAP.
•Our sign up for the Covered Bridge Regatta is here. Sign up closes March 10. Tip: Motels in the Springfield/Eugene area are filling up.
•Molly Evjen of RCRC(formerly of PWR, and STL coxswain) will be helping coach our women’s sweep team on some Fridays this spring!
•New this year, on Sundays, is an “open row”. Like Saturdays, any regular member (sweep or scull) can row on Sundays. Sculling will be the priority, but if there are enough sweep rowers, we will put out sweep boats. Beginning this Sunday, there’s an extra (3rd) coach on duty. Closer to regattas, we may run special race lineups on Sundays. But for now, it’s an extra opportunity for our members.
