New information on a variety of items–
The Dock Closure has been rescheduled for March 17-25. It may reopen early. We will row from our trailer at an alternate location on Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th, both days will be open rows at 7am. Additional information will be available soon. Each member who rows that weekend will be asked to load boats on the trailer Friday evening OR unload them Sunday late morning after the row.
Learn to Row Sweep Classes–begin March 28. There is still room in both Level 1 and Level 2. Suggest classes to a friend!
Sculling Clinics–with the help of sculling captain Penny, we are scheduling some guest coach clinics this spring. These clinics will feature several hours of coaching and video analysis. The club will subsidize the cost, with members paying a modest fee to participate. Look for an announcement about dates and registration next week.
Introduction to Sculling classes will start in April on Thursday evenings. These classes are for members who have rowed for about a year or more and would like to gain experience in doubles and quads. Skills covered include docking, steering and river awareness–along with rowing technique. Registration for this members-only class will also begin next week.
Sculling Equipment–we are looking to update our fleet of doubles. The club is asking for pledges from members who can help us with the purchase of a medium and large 2x. Contact Peter or your captain if you would like to pledge. Pledges need to be fulfilled before the end of the calendar year. Or donate online now.
Covered Bridge Regatta sign ups closed March 10. If you missed the deadline, you can contact your coach and see if there is room for you. For those who are signed up, remember that changing your mind at this point can be disruptive to the coaches as they work to get 50-60 members scheduled for racing.
