Mid-Summer Update

By 2016/07/27November 22nd, 2016No Comments

It looks like vacation time in Portland.  But there’s plenty going on at the club, and several important announcements.

•Thanks to everyone who participated in Row for the Cure–volunteers, USRowing referees, and competitors.  It was our first year for this event as a sprint race, and while we learned a few lessons, the race should become a regular part of the summer regatta calendar in the Northwest.  Thanks also to Steve Jensen of RegattaMaster for donating timing services for the event.

•Station L members should pay their entry fees for RFTC at this link.  $30 per event (all proceeds go to the Komen Foundation).

•Join us for a preview screening of The Boys of ’36, this Friday July 29 at 7pm, at Lewis and Clark College’s, Templeton College Center Council Chambers. Consider signing up on the event’s Facebook page to help us estimate attendance.

New Learn to Row classes start the week of August 1.   Say hello to any new faces you see.

Green Lake Summer Extravaganza Regatta, August 6.   Draft schedule is up.  Boat loading August 5, 5:15am.  Unloading August 7 @4pm.

Picnic Row, August 14.  Row to Lake Oswego, eat, return.  Who can argue with rowing and eating?   Free for members.  Sign up here
