With the Governor’s extension of the school closure order, it’s a good time to look at our calendar. The governor’s executive order restricting gatherings of 25 or more currently extends to April 14. So for now, we can expect that the club will remain closed until April 14. The Opening Day regatta has also been cancelled.
Scheduled Learn to Row classes have been rescheduled for May–class members have been emailed details on their options going forward.
Members and friends:
As difficult as it is to write this, we know it’s more difficult to receive. Effective immediately, Station L is suspending all operations until Monday March 30.
The Board has been following all of the recent developments and strongly believes that taking this step is in the best interest of our members, their families and most importantly, our community.
All club operations are shut. There will be no independent rowing or erg workouts. Members who have sculling oars stored in the cage can remove them this weekend. The oar cage lock will be changed on Sunday.
As the crisis evolves, we may be able to develop a protocol for limited erg use. But for now, the club is completely shut.
In Seattle, Pocock, Sammammish, Green Lake and Mt. Baker are all similarly closed.
The Husky Open and Covered Bridge Regattas have been cancelled.
Please take care of yourselves and your families during this time. Take lots of walks outside. Find and follow the best information available. And know that this is only temporary.
We know that many of you enjoy some of your best friendships through your association with the club. This period of isolation will be difficult, but it’s like training–if we hit it hard and do it right, the benefits should be tangible.
If there are new developments regarding a potential new boathouse, we will keep you informed.
We will re-assess our suspension on Friday March 27.
